Bangalore: Recently Adobe's Director for product security and privacy Brad Arkin, has opined that some of the Adobe software are the favorite target for hackers. Now the company has acknowledged that Reader, Acrobat and flash Player software are virus affected.
The security flow in software will enable the hackers to take control of virus affected computer systems. Users running Windows, Macintosh or Linux might be attacked.
The company is working to fix the problem. At the same time, users of Reader, Acrobat and Flash are advised to ensure their anti-virus software is up to date.
Adobe has said that the users will experience a non-exploitable crash or error message when opening a PDF file that contains Flash content.
"There has been a long history of vulnerabilities being found in Adobe's products," said Graham Cluley, Senior Technology Consultant at Sophos, a security software company. Adobe has estimated that more than 95 percent of computers globally have installed Flash Player.
According to the BBC report the security issue may strengthen the argument with Apple. Apple was preventing its iPhone and iPad devices from viewing Adobe Flash animations and videos raising security concerns.
