Hong Kong: Wireless chip maker Qualcomm will launch a chip for China's homegrown third-generation wireless technology standard, TD-SCDMA, next year and expects its revenue contribution from China to grow in the coming few years. Chief Executive Paul Jacobs said on Tuesday that the company's revenue from China is expected to grow on the uptake of third-generation services in the country. He didn't provide a forecast for the growth rate, but China now accounts for 23 percent of Qualcomm's revenue. Qualcomm also plans to continue to expand its research and development operations, as well as client services business in the Asia-Pacific region on the prospects of strong demand and robust growth, Jacobs said.
