Prominent Martyrs Of India's Freedom Struggle

Bangalore: As India is celebrating her 67th Independence Day, it is our duty to honor those who laid down their lives for the great cause. The blood these great men had shed for mother India will never go unheard. Here is a list of some prominent martyr’s who led our nation to freedom giving thing worth not less than their own life.

ALLURI SITARAMA RAJU (1897 - 1924)
The brave martyr from Mogallu, Dist. West Godavari of Andhra Pradesh was born on July 4,1897 as the son of Sri Venkatarama Raju. The atrocities committed by British rulers against the tribal people in Vishakhapatnam led him to organize an armed rebellion known as Rampa rebellion. He was an expert guerilla leader and launched many successful attacks against the Britishers. A reward of 10,000 was announced for his arrest; however he surrendered to the English Army and was shot dead on May 7, 1924.
