Fran Cotton
From Sports Field to the Boardroom
Francis Edward Cotton is a former rugby union prop forward, who was aheas of his time in terms of physical preparation. He captained the English team three times. After retirement, Fran co-founded a clothing company Cotton Traders in 1987. The Cotton Traders was forced to pull out of Burma after an uncovering that the company was sourcing clothing from Burma in 2008--as clothing exports generate significant income for the Burmese dictatorship. He is an honorary president of the rugby charity Wooden Spoon, which intends to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in Britain and Ireland.
