Reid Hoffman: The Co-Founder of LinkedIn

Reid Hoffman, SocialNet.com, Apple Computers, Fujitsu, PayPal, Jeff Weiner, LinkedIn, Sequoia Capital, Josh Kopelman, Greylock Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, European Founders Fund, Bain Capital Ventures, SAP Ventures, Goldman Sachs, McGraw-Hill CompaniesIn 2003, Hoffman along with Jeff Weiner co-founded LinkedIn, a business related social networking site. Previously Hoffman had founded SocialNet.com, an online dating service in 1996. Hoffman worked at Apple Computers and Fujitsu in product management. He was also the member of the Board of Directors at PayPal, an electronic money transmission service.

LinkedIn now has more than 135 million registered users in more than 200 countries. It had raised a total of $103 million in venture funding till date from Sequoia Capital, Josh Kopelman, Greylock Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, European Founders Fund, Bain Capital Ventures, SAP Ventures, Goldman Sachs and McGraw-Hill Companies. The company filed for an IPO in January 2011 and finally went public in May 2011.
