OnMobile acquires Dilithium Networks' 3G Technology
Mumbai: OnMobile Global, a leading telecom value-added services (VAS) player in India acquired video technology and mobile solutions rights for 3G services developed by U.S.-based Dilithium Networks. This also helps OnMobile access Dilithium's extensive portfolio over 175 patents in the world's most advanced video technologies. The 3G video technology and mobile solutions developed by Silicon Valley-based Dilithium Networks over eight years, is the largest customer validated 3G video solutions for mobile operators globally. OnMobile will now be able to deploy mobile video solutions globally with the acquisition, the amount of which was undisclosed. OnMobile's acquisition, its third in four years will prove vital since Dilithium has an extensive customer base of 1.5 billion subscribers spanning 120 service providers and operators in more than 60 countries. Dilithium's technology enables the delivery of novel 3G VAS by offering superior quality and scale to the creation, adaptation and distribution of all types of multimedia assets. All set for the launch of 3G services in India, OnMobile will be intending to offer video calls, video RBT, multi-screen video streaming on demand, IVVR and video optimization.
