Bangalore: IBM has teamed up with the Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in Omaha, Nebraska to develop a first of its kind green datacenter management degree programme. The programme will use IBM hardware, software and online skills training resources. The two year degree will include courses to help students gain technical and business skills to prepare them for careers in the design and management of energy efficient datacenters. Students will also get the opportunity to learn virtualization and server consolidation, energy resiliency, business resiliency, and security and compliance skills through a real world enterprise datacenter on campus. Additionally, this degree will be available to other colleges through a virtual learning programme. The curriculum has been created by MCC with the help of the IBM Academic Initiative.
