Now a webcam tool to improve office worker posture

Bangalore: To improve the ergonomic posture and to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) in office workers, a new web tool has been developed, a desktop webcam.
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, a multidisciplinary team reported about the office training and an automatic frequent, feedback system. The system displays a webcam photo of a workers current sitting posture alongside the correct posture photo taken during office training to 60 workers.
The final results illustrated the successful short after the training method. The posture improvement was attained only by taking webcam shots. The training was very effective to select the right posture. The intrusion had a severe effect people working in office for many years and on people suffering from musculoskeletal pain. The photo training method had more upbeat effect on women than on men.
ANI quoted To maintain the effectiveness of an ergonomic intervention for the long term, the intervention should be a continuous process, which includes frequent feedback. The researchers explained, This new ergonomic method can also result in preventing MSD among workers and reduce financial loss to their employers.
This study was successful in tracing out the correct posture to be followed while working on computer for longer time. These results will be favorable to people working in industries and service sectors.
