Bangalore: Smart devices market across the globe is growing at a fast pace. As an effort to address the security issues of smartphones, Symantec has extended its security services beyond PCs by launching Norton Everywhere.
The offering will be delivered direct to customers, as well as through new business-to-business offerings. Norton Everywhere will provide security to internet connected devices.
"We are entering a new era where non-PC devices are exploding in numbers, which means more opportunity for cybercriminals. It's becoming more and more critical for consumers to be protected beyond their PCs," said Janice Chaffin, President Consumer Business Unit, Symantec at the launch.
Products that are launched today and in the coming weeks include Norton Smartphone Security for Android Beta, Norton Connect Beta and Norton DNS Beta. The company will demonstrate these technologies at its annual investor conference in New York. Norton Smartphone Security Beta for Android is expected to be available in this month.
