NIF in search of young talent in entrepreneurship

Ahmedabad: Aiming at exploring the young talents in entrepreneurship, the body of Central government's science and technology department, National Innovation Foundation (NIF) has invited students from all over the nation who are interested in proving their talent and have innovative ideas and products in hand. The competition named as 'Ignite' has officially started from July 13 and the students can send their entries those will later be screened and prizes for the best ideas and products will be announced on the day of the birth day of former president and scientist Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam that is October 15 which is also being celebrated as 'Children's Innovation Day'. Anil Gupta, Founder, NIF said that the basic idea of such a program is to instill innovative, original thoughts among children. He expects one lakh students to participate in the four month long innovation festival. "Best entries will be patented and some will even be financed," he added. The competition has been divided in four segments. The first category is for 'creative and innovative solutions' developed by the students, identifying the problems and inefficiencies in everyday life' is the second, and third one is for the children to document rich traditional knowledge of India and the last category is for the students to discover and document innovations happening in their neighborhood.
