Bangalore: Leading managed IT service provider Netmagic Solutions Tuesday launched cloud computing services for enterprises to save on capital, space and power.
Cloud computing, a new generation of computing that utilises distant servers for data storage and management, allows devices to use chips that consume less energy than standard computers.
"Cloud computing will enable enterprises to save on capital expenditure and help our customers save power and installation space costs," Netmagic chief executive Sharad Sanghi told IANS from Mumbai.
According to global market intelligence research firm International Data Corp (IDC), cloud computing is reshaping the IT marketplace, creating new opportunities for suppliers and catalysing changes in traditional IT offerings.
A recent IDC report estimates that global spending on IT cloud services will grow by three-fold to $42 billion by 2012 from $14 billion in 2008.
Netmagic has three data centres in Mumbai and one each in Bangalore and Chennai, and a customer base of 650 enterprises, including 600 across the country and 50 overseas.
