Mumbai: While on one side India stands for its cheapest models of cars and upcoming laptop, on the other hand one of its lane hits the list of the world's 10 most expensive streets. The Mumbai lane, Altamount Road, priced at $25,000, ranks 10th in the list, wherein the 27 floor, $2 billion building is being built by Mukesh Ambani. However, the lane stands far behind Avenue Princess Grace in Monaco, which holds the top position being a $190, 000 street. Moreover, London's Billionaires Row also stands out being three times costlier than the Indian lane, wherein steel tycoon, Lakshmi Mittal owns three houses. It was Ambani's decision of constructing 'Antilia' that brought the lane to the limelight and hence, become one of the pricey lanes. The other streets that made to this world recognized count are, Severn Road at Hong Kong with a price of $121, 000 per sq mt, followed by Fifth Avenue, the $80,000 per sq mt lane in New York. Apart from them there are Avenue Montaigne in Paris, ranked fifth at $54,000 per sq mt, Moscow's Ostozhenka (sixth at $40,000 per sq mt), Via Suvretta in St Moritz (seventh at $38,000 per sq mt) and Carolwood Drive in Los Angeles (eighth ranked at $30,000 per sq mt). However, with the inclusion in the world's popular streets, the price of the houses of the areas has boomed to a great extent. This though has negligible impact on the billionaires, but the common mass does face the doom.
