Harry Potters' most recent Deathly Hallow Facebook Page has 26,145,890 likes featuring interviews with the cast of the movie, a Harry Potter shop which provides anything and everything to fans to HP. You can also gaze at all earlier HP movies on Facebook, with all other campaigns and contests like 'Join the Quest' and 'Muggle Hub' linked to the page. Twitter too had more than 293,877 followers. iPhone apps had first 5 minutes of the movie and also screened exclusive behind-the-scenes videos. Movie posters, gallery photos, production stills and music tracks can be availed from sites like Muggle Hub. YouTube channel designed for Harry Potter had tweets, sweepstakes, photos, posters and even a countdown widget in its homepage; apart from the videos. Social Media these days is the most required ingredient for promoting any brand. And when we talk about movies today, the first step towards promotion is through sites like Facebook, Youtube etc. India is slowly adapting this trend with upcoming movies. Social media is the easiest way for a film maker to seek appreciation from its audiences. Be it script writing, financial backing, picking the cast and crew, location, promotion and release, social Media plays a role in almost all of these stages. It has changed the marketing strategy and brought a radical change in the way a film is distributed. A movie like Ra.One has opened all ways for Bollywood into Social Media.
