New Delhi: At a time when recession is forcing all to tighten their purse strings, cellular handset maker Motorola has introduced a mobile phone that costs Rs 1,11,000. The hand-sculpted phone is named 'AURA'. "We are delighted to offer AURA to Indian consumers with its luxurious design, artistry and sensory experience," said Faisal Siddiqui, Head of India Operations, Motorola Mobile Devices. The phone was launched by the Bollywood celebrity and Motorola's brand ambassador Abhishek Bachchan, who presented the first Aura to fashion designer Manish Malhotra yesterday in Mumbai. The handset breaks convention and re-establishes artistry in the design and manufacturing of mobile devices for the discerning Indian consumers, Siddiqui said. The hand-sculpted richness of AURA can literally be felt in its stainless steel housing, textures and patterns chemically etched into its surface, he added.
