Meet Hollywood's 3-D Entrepreneur, James Cameron

The Cameron Pace Group

This Company was started by the academy award winner James Cameron and Emmy award winner Vince Pace when they set out to revolutionize the cinema industry. It was started 12 years ago and has certainly helped this team to move forward with more ventures, the COO of this company reported that the company had made revenue of $58 million in 2011.

This company actively rents out its equipments to various film makers and cinematographers; it also rented its 3D equipments to Michael Bay for the movie ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ and also for more than 9 concert films, 24 films and 140 sports broadcast.

Hollywood and its 3D conversion movement may help Cameron as an entrepreneur. This eccentric and sometime combative director along with late special effects maven Stan Winston started ‘Digital Domain’ in the year 1993 to strongly compete with Lucas’s ILM special effect house. Cameron left this company in 1998 after clashing with investors like IBM and Cox communications.

It was clear that he wanted to be an independent film entrepreneur as he said – “I had begun to dislike the dynamics, when it was clear that the very controls I needed fell mostly in the conflict-of-interest category, it obviated the upside for me. “
