Maruti to unveil 800cc small car

Bangalore: The most eminent car maker in the country Maruti Suzuki India is evolving with a new 800cc small car in the Indian market. Initially it was reported that Maruti is intending to unveil a new version of its iconic 800cc car - Maruti 800; however, Maruti has now confirmed that it is planning to launch a completely new car developed by its engineers.
The sales of Maruti's oldest model "Maruti 800" have immersed to a very low level as it has ceased from the 13 major cities of India, where the new BS-IV emission norms have been infixed by the government of India. Maruti has agreed to phase out Maruti 800, although the 800 model of Maruti was expected to be upgraded to make it compatible to the new emission norms.
Maruti has expressed that the new 800 cc small car will co-exist with India's largest selling car Maruti Alto.At present it indicates monthly sales of over 30,000 units.
The evolution of the new 800 cc car can be seen as a very acute decision taken by the company as its closest competitor Hyundai is all set to unveil a new 800cc small car in the Indian market by the year end.
