Groupon Acquires Adku

The e-commerce data startup Adku was acquired by a daily deals company Groupon. According to the deal, the team of Adku will relocate to Groupon’s Palo Alto office and will work on new project initiatives based on their background in big data and personalization.

Adku is a San Francisco based company founded by Ajit Varma, Carlos Whitt, and Jess Shieh in 2010, and has previously secured funding from Greylock Partners, Battery Ventures, True Ventures and Angel Pad.

Talking about Groupon’s interest in the startup, Julie Mossler, Spokesperson, Groupon said, “Adku describes itself as a stealth startup looking to revolutionize e-commerce. Such strong product technologies and engineers add great value to the development team we are continuing to grow in our Palo Alto office.”
