Believing what is Told by the Direct Team
Lessons That can be Learnt from CEOs\' Mistakes
CEOs feel that they have the best team under them, and trust whatever is put across by the team. But to the dismay of many, it is usually the closest and most-trusted person who is at the risk of back-stabbing. Even if you have the best people under your sleeve, it is best for your own good that you re-check all the facts told to you, read all the documents carefully, and make decisions at your own discretion. Generally it is the discussions doing the rounds during coffee breaks, which have more truth in them than those put on the papers. Not that you should deny to whatever is told by your team, but verify the facts before jumping the gun.
