Mumbai: Trotting in the marathon lines to secure a home for orphaned children, Kale Consultants continue to support the cause of Adoption and Child Rehabilitation taken up by Catalyst for Social Action (CSA). "We take pride in supporting and saluting the spirit of the Mumbai Marathon and the city that supported the adoption of 12 million orphans," said Vipul Jain, CEO and Managing Director, who participated in Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2009. Around 100 employees of the company participated in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2009 for the cause. Currently, the country witness only around 25 percent of adoptions from rural areas and as a whole out of 12 million orphans only 5000 are actually adopted. Bharati Dasgupta Head, CSA pinpointed that the impact of the endeavor was fruitful as it saw unhesitating participation of city-parents who are happy to adopt from rural agencies. "We have also worked around 20 adoption agencies and 8 Destitute Homes /Orphanages in rural Maharashtra and Orissa for similar causes," she added. The NGO has played the role of a catalyst, i.e. work towards making the existing stakeholders more effective rather than set up an adoption agency. The reason is that there are many agencies already working child adoption.
