Is secondary market investing PE industry's silver lining?

San Francisco: IBF Conferences' 19th Annual Venture Capital Investing 2008 conference, which is being held on June 10-12, 2008 at The Palace Hotel here will provide an insight in to the environment for venture capital investing.
Keynote session of the conference will be on the topic 'Secondary Market Investing: The PE Industry's Silver Lining.' The secondary market is becoming an important tool for venture-backed private companies to create liquidity for key constituents and solve challenges in the capital structure.
Furthermore, in an environment where regulators have increasingly targeted even private technology companies with option pricing scrutiny, many secondary market serves as a sophisticated "reference market"for private company valuations. As assortment of investors need liquidity for their VC assets for a multiplicity of reasons, and now they are turning to the secondary markets for alternative options.
Members of the panel of this session include David Wachter, Managing Director, W Capital Partners; Joseph Marks, Principal, Coller Capital, Maximilian M; Schroeck, Managing Partner, Cipio Partners and Hans Swildens, Principal and Founder, Industry Ventures LLC. The moderator of the session is Laurence G. Allen, Managing Member, Nyppex, LLC.
This three-day conference features over one hundred seasoned venture investors as speakers, who will share industry perspectives and deal structure strategies.
