Despite relentless reports of the difference between the two, Modi rubbished the rumors of any rift and wrote on his blog, "I had the honour of having worked in very close proximity with Advani ji. It is extremely unfortunate and condemnable that some vested interests are spreading rumours about him."

Modi wished Advani on his anti-graft yatra and wrote, "It is appropriate that this yatra is starting from the native place of Jayprakash Narayanji on his birth anniversary. Advaniji has dedicated his entire youth in the service of the nation and served the country for 60 long years without break and, that too, 90 percent of these years have been spent in the opposition party. One cannot help but feel pity for those who spread falsities that Advaniji, who from 1952 till today is sharing people's joys and sorrows, is undertaking this for attaining some post or position." The prime focus of the 12,000 kilometres roadshow is to take the party closer to people and to highlight the issues of Lokpal, black money, corruption scandals, judicial accountability and electoral reforms etc. Despite the efforts to build bridges by the party chief and the leaders, Advani's tactic of not clearly ruling out the possibility of being in the race for PM candidature, raises several eyebrows on his real intentions.
