Intel launches 25nm SSD with double capacity
Bangalore: Intel has announced the launch of a 1.8 inch ultraportable solid-state drives(SSDs)along with the 25nm(nanometer)SSDs, which will nearly double the capacity available today, according to electronista. The current drives which top out at 160GB will get extended to 300GB of capacity, and will be offered in an even smaller form factor. A 160GB version will also replace both the 80GB and 160GB 34nm drives available now. According to the Fudzilla source, Intel will most likely follow a launch pattern similar to that used for the original SSDs. This means the 300GB drive and possibly the 25nm 160GB drive may not ship until early 2011.
