India's Honest Bureaucrats Who Raised a Voice against the Corrupt
Manoje Nath:
Manoje Nath, an honest and upright IPS officer is one of the longest-serving IPS officers in the country. He was transferred over 40 times in his 39-year long career just because he did not dance to the tune of political leaders. Nath retired from Bihar police in 2012 without being assigned the job of the state's top cop or a plum post or a medal during his tenure as an IPS officer.
In the year 1980 as Bokaro SP, he had arrested the then Bokaro Steel MD in a corruption case, for which he was handed with a transfer order within 24 hours, only after four months in office. While in vigilance, he again ended up in a conflict with his superiors as he raided three engineers in a case of corruption. Nath was especially chosen for at least four occasions to investigate important cases, including the case of Shikha Gupta. He also serves as director general (police training). Despite the fact that this honest officer was a very competent officer to head the state police force, unfortunately he was never given the post till his retirement.
