7. Indore The major city, and commercial centre of Madhya Pradesh ranks seventh with 90.4 percent of population stating that they are happy. Indore is the largest city of Madhya Pradesh. It is often mentioned as the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh with a mass of its trade originating from small, mid and large scale manufacturing and service industries. These industries categorize from automobile to pharmaceutical and from software to retail and from textile trading to real estate. Indore treasures the two prestigious institutes of the country, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Pithampur and Sanwer are the two special economic zones housed by the city of Indore. Pithampur, is often referred as the 'Detroit of India', because it has many automobile industries and some of the largest pharmaceutical companies. Sanwer, on the other hand, has steel industries, including The Indo-German Tool Room.
