India's Happiest Cities: Jaipur Tops, Ahmedabad Least

4. Chandigarh Referred as "The City Beautiful,"Chandigarh takes the fourth position with 94.4 percent of population saying that they are happy. Based on the national government study, the city is reported to be the country's "cleanest" city in 2010. Chandigarh is often cited as a 'pensioner's paradise'. The city of Chandigarh tops the list of Indian States and Union Territories with the highest per capita income in the country at 99,262 at current prices and 70,361 at constant prices from 2006 to 2007. The city has 15 medium to large industries including two in the public sector. It also has over 2,500 units registered under small scale sector. The important industries are paper manufacturing, basic metals, alloys and machinery. Other industries are related to food products, sanitary ware, auto parts, machine tools, pharmaceuticals and electrical appliances.
