Aseervartham Achary, Raja's PA (exposed 2G scam):

Aseervartham Achary, the crucial 2G spectrum trial witness stood up in court and pointed at a man, an 'office peon' for accused Reliance executives, whom he claimed had threatened his life.

Achary spent nearly a decade as an aide to Raja and was allowed to be privy to all of the alleged deal-making that set up the 2G scam. In 2005, Achary asked Raja whether he could leave and go back to Tamil Nadu to pursue other options, but was denied. Raja did the same the next year and after two years, when Achary told him that he would like to get into politics too, the minister told him not to.

When the scam came into light Achary got a call from the CBI. A chargesheet depended on his testimony regarding the relationship Raja had with Kanimozhi, visits of corporate leaders to the minister's office and the consequent arguments that led to one telecom secretary moving away. He was the man who exposed the scam.
