Indian QSR's On A Spree: GetMyMeal Hits 80 Lakh Mark

Bangalore: Lunching every day in an office cafeteria and spending over the budgeted amount has been an issue for many professionals. The monotony created on seeing the same food everyday cannot be explained.

Get My Meal, an online customized food service, has been catering to many individuals in various parts of Mumbai since 2010 and has grown into a 80 lakh company today, as reported by The Economic Times.

It all began with the Mumbai-based Poonam Kanwal and Tenzin Thargay who initiated an idea like this, which gave many the option of ordering food online at affordable prices.

Kanwal, 45, has worked with marketing and branding segments of top companies like Ogilvy & Mather, Colgate, Parle Agro and has been a part time consultant in the year 2010.

Thargay, 36, on the other hand, has worked as an investment banker. The IIM graduate from Bangalore was a part of Rediff in the early days and had the will to do something different apart from his regular office life.

The duo’s initial plan was to let their customers choose from French, Thai and Indian cuisines. They hence associated with some institutional kitchens and decided to move forward with their plan by selling the food items through an online medium.
