Indian arm fastest growing for SAP

Bangalore: SAP, a business software maker said that SAP India was the fastest growing subsidiary for the company worldwide. India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh which comes under the purview of SAP India is within the top 10 revenue producing countries for SAP.
"The total revenue for 2007 grew more than 68 percent year-on-year over 2006. Licence revenue grew more than 100 percent and small and medium enterprise revenue grew about 230 percent year-on-year over 2006," said Ranjan Das, President and Chief Executive for SAP India Subcontinent.
Started back in 1996, SAP India added about 1700 customers in 2007. By December 2007, the company had 3,024 customers, compared with 1,350 in December 2006, said Das
The company that is planning to launch a new solution for smaller companies in April, would be available to customers around June. He said the company would be hiring about 100 people in 2008 in India.
