India Is World's Third Largest Participant On element14's Online Community

Bangalore: element14, an information portal and collaborative community and electronics store for design engineers and electronics enthusiasts, announced the number of registered members in its online Community has reached 104,000. India has emerged as the third largest participant in the Community with the most participation in Groups where there are discussions on Atmel, RoadTests and SLS Smart Homes. Popular segments that Indian participants viewed include Arduino, EAGLE, CAD Libraries, Webinars, Training and Events, Dev Kits Design Elements and Raspberry Pi.

Since its launch in June 2009, the collaborative online Community, specifically built for electronics design engineers, has become the information portal and electronics store where users have first hand access to 46 industry leading manufacturers, technical documents, webinars, product RoadTest, videos on element14 TV and the latest updates on electronics legislation.

With over 470,000 minutes of viewed content each week from 130 countries in the world, the Community is known as a place where members can find answers to questions fast.  Engineering members share their expertise with the widest conversation that occurred between two members 7,872 miles (12,669km) apart and the quickest solution to a problem was provided in just 4 hours.

3M, Tyco Electronics and Vishay are some of element14’s top suppliers which garnered the most views from India’s participants on the element14 Community. The top three groups on the latest news and technologies such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino and the Cadsoft Eagle Design competition are popular with visitors from India while threads on Raspberry Pi and the element14 technical expert Abhishek Rao giving advice on circuit protection are the top threads with the most views.

Engineers and electronics enthusiasts have used the Community to connect seamlessly with the products, information and tools they need to do their jobs faster and easier than ever before, via resources such as “Ask an Expert,” free product RoadTests and the Knode, a search tool that helps design engineers start their design. The Knode is a search bar that searches products, applications, data sheets so that an engineer can start and finish their design quickly and easily.

“Collaboration offers engineers and developers more avenues to interact and engage to provide solutions. To see India as the third largest participant on element14’s online collaborative Community is a proof of the emergence of India as a knowledge economy, contributing substantially to the global technology industry.” said Ravi Pagar, Regional Director – India and Asean, element14, “At element14, it is our constant endeavor to build new avenues for budding engineers to be a part of innovation and new age technology.”
