BANGALORE: i2 Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of closed-loop supply chain management solutions, and the i2 User Group today announced that nominations are being accepted for the annual Ken Sharma Awards for Excellence. The awards are named in honor of i2 co-founder, Ken Sharma, one of the pioneers of supply chain management, and honor customers with i2 deployments either planned, in progress or complete with documented value received. The award program is co-sponsored by i2 and the i2 User Group, and will be judged by independent industry analysts from AMR Research. Winners will be selected based on the companies’ overall vision, complexity of the project, innovation in approaching business challenges, time to value and results. "Year after year we are impressed by the quality applications submitted for consideration in the Ken Sharma Awards competition. These awards honor companies from around the world that have revolutionized their organizations through supply chain optimization. Co-sponsoring these awards with i2 is an honor and a perfect fit with our mission. Because the i2 User Group helps facilitate dialogue and brings together companies so that they can share their supply chain best practices, we believe it makes perfect sense for us to be a part of this distinguished awards program,” said Leanne Marshall, i2 User Group chairman. Applications are available online at www.i2-usergroup.org and at www.i2.com/customers/ken_sharma_award.cfm and are due August 9, 2004. Winners will be announced during ceremonies throughout the fourth quarter of 2004, recognizing companies from the Americas, EMEA, and Greater Asia-Pacific regions. Additionally, i2 will host a global awards ceremony at i2 Planet 2005. This event will include an audience comprised of hundreds of executives representing multiple industries as well as members of the media and analyst communities. “Ken Sharma’s vision was to change the world through supply chain management. Today we still embrace that vision, as well as Ken’s charter that we serve our customers as trusted advisors. It is at the heart of what we do, and why we honor our customers with the Ken Sharma Awards for Excellence,” said Hiten Varia, i2 chief customer officer. “Working closely with the i2 User Group and AMR Research, it is our privilege to recognize i2 implementations that stretch the limits of contemporary supply chain management practices.” Ken Sharma's impact on the development of supply chain planning continues to resonate today. Throughout his career, he worked to define and refine the concepts of global optimization, multi-enterprise planning, master planning, and supply chain planning.
