Bangalore: The HTC Flyer is hardly one of the most anticipated tablets of this year what with its releasing with Android 2.4 instead of the tablet optimized Honeycomb. However, it does have one redeeming feature that's catching the interest of many - a capacitive pen reports Vail Gladu for PDF Devices. HTC's first tablet has some good specs. The 7 inch tablet is run by a 1.5GHz processor and includes 1GB RAM. There's a front (5mp) and rear (1.3mp) facing camera, 32GB internal storage, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HTC Sense, etc. But it's really the pen we want to talk about. An official video tour from HTC shows the pen doing some great stuff - signing documents, highlighting text, taking notes (with video, audio, and typing support; it may even record audio by default but that's not very clear yet), and even rewinding to a time when the notes were being taken (so you can hear the audio). Then there's Evernote integration that backs up your notes to the cloud so you're covered against accidental loss. Very smart. This would be an excellent tool for business people who spend a lot of time in meetings and of course students. If the notetaking feature will record audio all the time, the HTC Flyer may even work out as a great detective gadget. Of course, there are legal implications - security, privacy, etc., etc. But HTC must have thought something out. HTC is also coming up with the 'HTC Watch' app that will offer full-length on-demand movies. You'll also see HTC Scribe, HTC OnLive, and HTC Sense 2.1 on the tab.
