Go to bed only if you feel sleepy:

Many of you may think that when you don’t get sleep, it’s better to at least stay in the bed to get some relaxation to your body. Rubin Naiman Ph.D, a sleep and dream specialist is of the opinion that this practice of sleeping on the bed while we are awake, usually results in conditioned insomnia, which is a subtle but powerful association of one’s bed with wakefulness.So, to avoid sleeplessness, always make sure you go to bed when you are feeling sleepy and avoid your bed when you are not sleepy.

Avoid taking sleeping pills:

You may have the habit of taking sleeping pills whenever you are not sleepy. The use off sleeping pills has risen over the years as the work pressure in the people is rising day by day. Rubin has cautioned that, the sleeping pills do not help you in getting much sleep as they cover the experience of sleeplessness, so try to avoid taking the drugs to get sleep, instead search for other ideas which can get you peaceful sleep, like arranging your bedroom in a way where you don’t get disturbed.
