How A Mount Everest Disaster Turned Him Into An Entrepreneur

Afterward, Lot18 was born

Phil says “Such lessons just sticks on with you.” It made him a strong person. His entrepreneurial abilities were soon discovered and this incident made him realize that he was confident and bold enough to face the world. He soon started Lot18.com in 2010, an online wine store fetching wine needs of all the states in America. At first, it was difficult though he had the idea to start a wine business because it was mandatory to have licenses and ware houses to cater the needs of all the customers. Phil did not have any of these things but his only asset was the strong will power.

Phil made this startup a success with the ‘confidence’ lesson he learnt from the Mount Everest incident. In 2011, Lot18 reportedly had revenue of $25 million. It has also sold nearly a million of bottles of wine already. All thanks to the Mount Everest and the accident for letting us witness a wonderful startup grow to this extent.
