Hot Shot Indian CEOs Join Re 1 Salary Club

Though many CEOs are joining $1 salary club, they earn big money through other options. One of the greatest examples to justify this statement will be the $96 million earned by Oracle’s founder Larry Ellison through other incentives in 2012.

The concept of token salaries has also made its way out of the board rooms and entered into sectors like IT and social media and Banking. During the 2008 economic slowdown, many decision makers had deployed the concept in order to cut costs. RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani also ripped off his salary by 66 percent in 2008-09.

Analysts have said that the idea of chucking the salary and to have remuneration through stocks helps in a positive way as the management’s performance will be reflected through stocks. Again the CEO’s hard work is well recognized and paid by a sturdy admiration of the stock price.
