6. Rohtak couple honour killing case:

In another case of alleged honour killing in Rohtak, Haryana, Dharmender, who had dared to elope with Nidhi, a girl from the same gotra and village, was first thrashed where his arms and legs were broken and was later stabbed 15 times before being beheaded and hacked into six pieces with an axe at Garnauthi village in Rohtak district. The girl was publicly killed first by her father Narender alias Billu and relatives. Like her boyfriend, she was also stabbed several times and was beheaded. After the murder, the girl's body was cremated. The victims were good friends and studied together in a college in Rohtak. The couple was lynched to death by the girl's father and relatives after they decided to tie the knot against the wishes of their families.
