Bangalore: In opposition to Rupert Murdoch's attack on Google to block it from accessing his sites, Guardian, an online portal in UK, has permitted link up rights to publisher and blogger by making the content free and proving tools and APIs(Application Programming Interface).
Though Murdoch's paid route model is sensible in sectors, other than social networking sites because with the mounting of blogging & social media, breaking news gets published on other sites rather than on the mainstream. So even if the content is not free of cost, no one will miss them.
Guardian's move to allow their content to traverse freely is a right step as their content is browsed in other websites and blogs for which they ask a return of 300 X 250 ad block and attribution. Besides this it offers tools like readymade wordpress plugins and API's to create their content at ease.
This increases the potentiality of Guardian to acquire money not only from its website but also from thousands of publishers who will connect to their content. It will no doubt raise the search ranking of Guardian.
