Bangalore: Google unveiled several new additions like Voice Search, Search by Image, and Instant Pages at an event held at San Francisco and all these features will only be available to desktop users through the Chrome or Firefox browsers.
Google already has mobile voice search on handsets built on popular platforms like Blackberry, Android and iOS. A little grey microphone is sported at the end of the search box where it instructs the user to 'Speak Now.' It detects the words and transcribes them into a search query. Voice search will fetch consumers a different kind of experience. Initially this feature will be supported by Google Chrome 11 alone.
Apart from the amazing voice search now Google enables you to experience search with images. It will allow people to use a picture rather than text to submit a query. All you have to do is drag-and-drop an image into the search box or copy and paste the image's URL into the search bar. The system will then deliver pictures and text it judges to be related to the image.
Introduction of instate pages will led users to quick search results. Instant Pages is expected to soon go beta.
