Bangalore: Tracking company documents would be a matter of seconds with Google?s upgraded version of Google Search Appliance. The rack-mounted device is structured to index 10 million documents without any usage of other hardware and includes greater encryption powers and the ability for Google Alerts to notify users when new documents are stored on the network by colleagues. Google provides the private and government organizations with device devised for Google-style Web search of office documents. It is a faster version of computers that companies use to find their documents on their internal networks. The smaller size is an edge over its 12-box version of the appliance wherein 30 million documents can be screened. The Mountain View, California-based company?s device runs on the storage hardware from Dell. It aids in finding datas in various corporate storehouses like EMC Documentum, IBM's FileNet, Open Text's LiveLink and Microsoft SharePoint. The current sales in the non-advertising sector of the Google products including Search appliance business made up 3.4 percent of the total sales. The new search appliance starts at $30, 000 to customize queries, which implies variety in results as per requirements. Meanwhile Google is also seen to unveil its new free music services in China whereby the free downloads of licensed songs would be possible. This has triggered some competition for Baidu.com, which dominates as Internet search engine in China. This company, which holds nearly 63 percent of market share in China, has faced lawsuit charges that it facilitates unlicensed music. Though Google holds only 26 percent of the market share, it can have an advantage through its licensed music service.
