Google Launches Business Photos In India

Bangalore: Until now, it was quite difficult to choose a restaurant for eat-out and  tough to judge a place based on its reviews and comments- but not any more Search giant, Google has created the Google Business Photos Program, a Google Maps project that allows consumers to see inside a company’s premise without actually stepping inside the location. The program can be accessed through a Smartphone or PC and can be viewed on Google Maps, Google Search and Google+ Local Pages.

It provides the Google users a virtual tour inside the company through interactive 360-degree imagery, according to ZDNet report. Apart from countries like United Kingdom, United States, Australia, New Zealand, France, Ireland and others the program is officially open to businesses in India.

In order to acquire Google Business photos, business owners can hire Trusted Agency Photographers to capture the interiors of their premises. Apart from capturing images of layout, facilities, and merchandise, the photographers also captures images of displays on the storefront, like credit card, posted menus and the like. These photos can give a vague idea of what a particular business has to offer and what sets it apart from others.

Shailesh Nalawadi, Product Manager-Geo, Google said, “Consumers who look online for local businesses can now see more high-quality photos that give them a sense of what a place is really like. For the businesses, this provides an opportunity to visually present their product and services. For example, before visiting a store to purchase an electronic device, consumers can use business photos to evaluate and view the selections offered by various retailers.”

Prior to the launch of this program, Google worked closely with thousands of businesses like Indiacom, Vox360, and Carbon Tree and other restaurants, bars, retail stores, showrooms and boutiques to lead this program.
