Google Is Killing These 8 Heavily Used Products

#7 Google Reader

The search engine giant launched Google Reader in 2005 in an effort to make it easier for people to discover and keep tabs on their favorite websites. It is a content application used as a platform for serving news and information to people, which is highly popular even now.

People had even started a twitter campaign asking Google not to kill this product.

The Bad news: The app will not be available after July1, 2013, due to declining usage. It will be the biggest blow for the users even though people get a lot of updates from Twitter and other social networking sites.

The Good news: Google has given users a three-month sunset period in order to move their data before closing on July 1.

What Google suggests: Those users and developers interested in RSS alternatives can export their data, including their subscriptions, with Google Takeout over the course of next four months.
