Google Extends Helping Hand to Indian Startups
Google claims lack of funds to be the main reason behind the failure of most of the SMEs. Using internet advertising tools like Google AdWords, these enterprises not only save a lot of money by lowering their advertising and marketing costs, but have been able to reach greatest number of customers than ever possible. This mechanically resulted for these SMEs to generate more revenues with low costs.
Recently Google held an event, “Helping Small Businesses Think Big” in Siangapore, where 20 SMEs from the Asian subcontinent were invited to share their success stories. Out of the 20 SMEs, three startups were from India, which are Chumbak, GetMyMeal, and Bharat Plaza.
GetMyMeal arranges parties and buffets for corporate personnel, corporate guests etc. GetMyMeal is founded by Tenzin Thargay, Poonam Kanwal and Vivek Jha.
Whereas Bharat Plaza is a manufacturer, exporter and supplier of designer clothing and accessories.
No second thoughts that SMEs have been a major medium in boosting the GDP in any economy and the power of online marketing just helped them to get better. Karim Temsamani, president, Google Asia Pacific says, "Any business can get online for virtually no cost and that's why Google advertising appeals the most to small and medium enterprises".
