5) Build Social Value –

"Once again, Facebook exists to make the world more open and connected and not just to build a company. We expect everyone at Facebook to focus every day on how to build real value for the world in everything they do."

Facebook was conceived of as a way to connect with people and socializing is a major human value. Millennials are so keen to stay connected these days that all smartphones and tablets have the Facebook application in them. Twitter and MySpace are on the charts too but the way Facebook has made an impact on its users is remarkable. Facebook games like Farmville, by Zynga, were instrumental in raising money for the earthquake stricken Haiti and the response was heart-felt. Zynga raised about $1 million towards the relief fund for Haiti. This shows that Facebook is not all about glamour but has a human side too.
