Geodesic's 'Mundu Radio' available on Ovi Store

Bangalore: Geodesic's radio application 'Mundu Radio' is now available for download at the Nokia's Ovi store. This application was earlier available on the web. Stores like this are an evolving media service that consolidates content services into a one-stop-shop for free and paid content. Thousands of the content industry's biggest names along with independent application developers are distributing their media, applications and games through these stores.
"We are pleased that users of Nokia phones now have easier access to Geodesic's entertainment application that provides an affordable, simple and fun way to enjoy entertainment on-the-go," said Arvind Venkateswaran, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Geodesic.
'Mundu Radio', an Internet radio solution for mobile phones, smartphones, and PDAs, is already one of the top ten most popular applications in the Nokia Ovi Store, according to a report from TechCrunch. The application provides access to thousands of internet radio stations streaming 24x7, including a wider variety of genres to the consumers. In addition, the users can add their own favorites to the playlist, creating personal mobile radio. 'Mundu Radio' has been deployed with leading carriers and handset manufacturers throughout India, Asia, Europe and the U.S.
According to research firm Gartner, nearly 90 percent of mobile users around the world use other types of smartphones, with Nokia holding the major share of the market, followed by BlackBerry, and Apple growing its share to about 10 percent.
