Bangalore: Geneva Software, a Bangalore based value added service (VAS) company which commercially launched its products only in last February, is expecting a revenue of $25 million (100 crore) in its first anniversary. The company develops VAS applications like messaging services for mobile services. Currently, major mobile operators like BSNL, MTNL and Spice offer various VAS services based on Geneva's technology. "We have also signed agreements with Airtel and Idea which will offer the services in two months," said Rajeev Saxena, Senior Vice-President for Marketing, Geneva. The company offers three kinds of mobile applications including GMS (Geneva messaging service), which is a consumer-to-consumer messaging service and enables mobile users to send text messages in English and 11 regional languages. It includes scheduled messaging, language communicator, language address books, online dictionary and a host of other offerings. "This service is handset and operator independent, even if the users do not have GMS application installed on their phone, they can still get the SMS as a picture messages," Saxena added. Moreover, Geneva's Natural Disaster Information System (NDIS) forms the link between the source of disaster alert and information dissemination to the public in the affected region. Disaster alerts from the Indian Meteorological Department are picked up by Geneva's server in Bangalore, translated into 11 Indian languages and sent out to mobile phones in the local language based on the location.
