Political Parties and Their Stand on Jan Lokpal Bill

Public outcry cannot be ingnored
Extending full support to his campaign against corruption, Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav asked for certain amendments in the government's version of Lokpal Bill. However, he representing his party, clearly stated that they are not in favor of Jan Lokpal Bill and objected many provisions in it. SP wanted judiciary out of the purview of Lokpal and rejected the idea of bringing PM under the ambit of Lokpal. Meanwhile, led by the Left front, a group of 9 political parties have come together to express solidarity to Anna Hazare in his fight against corruption. The leaders of Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Janata Dal (Secular), Telugu Desam Party, Forward Bloc, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Revolutionary Socialist Party, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Biju Janata Dal decided to organize nationwide campaign on August 23 asking for an effective legislation to curb corruption in the country.
