Rahul Gandhi has in the last many years tried to impress the people of this country staying in dalit homes, and travelling in standard class transport etc. The times have changed and these are being increasingly seen as gimmicks to fool people. The lack of sincerity in these trips has begun to seep into the minds of citizens. Rahul Gandhi's inability to win elections as seen in Bihar and Tamil Nadu will be a worrying factor for the Congress. Further, there has been no major development in his own constituency, Amethi. If he is not able to work for his own constituency, how is he going to work for the country. Rahul Gandhi will have to work on many areas if he has to lead the party on the lines of his mother Sonia. Sonia Gandhi had become the party chief in 1998, when the party was in doldrums. She had to lead the party through some tough times during the NDA rule. But, Sonia was a good speaker and was able to influence and convince the masses. She was credited for the party's victory in 2004 and 2009 general elections.
