Bangalore: In the wake of a London court's ruling in spot-fixing scam that found former Pakistan Test skipper Salman Butt and pacer Mohammad Asif guilty, the sacked IPL Chairman Lalit Modi has come out with some "startling claims". Lalit Modi said he was repeatedly threatened by the underworld for not fixing matches. He even claimed of attempts on his life. Modi said he was threatened thrice, once at his house in 2009, once in South Africa and also during a holiday trip in Thailand. Modi also disclosed that he received threatening calls from Pakistan, as recently as last week, which he reported to the Scotland Yard. "Mumbai police and central agencies are very much aware about it," he told a television channel. Further, Modi claimed that umpires and administrators also fixed matches at international level.
