Karl Mehta bags Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Mumbai: Karl Mehta, CEO of PlaySpan, provider of monetization solutions for online games, virtual worlds and social networks, has received this year's Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 Award in Northern California. The award recognizes the entrepreneurial excellence in the services category. Mehta was selected by an independent panel of judges. "This award embodies the spirit of entrepreneurialism that is alive and well in Silicon Valley, and it underscores the tremendous growth we've achieved and our steadfast commitment to serving the needs of our customers as the global leader in digital goods monetization solutions," said Karl Mehta, Founder & CEO of PlaySpan. The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards celebrate their 24th anniversary this year. The program honors entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptionality in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. As a Northern California award recipient, Mehta is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 national program. Award recipients in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award recipient, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 13, 2010. The awards are the culminating event of the Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum, the nation's most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
