9. Willie Mosconi:

William Joseph Mosconi, nicknamed “Mr. Pocket Billiards”, was an American pocket billiards (pool) player. Willie’s father owned a pool hall, but he wasn’t allowed to play there, so he improvised himself by practicing with small potatoes and an old broom stick, from his mother’s kitchen. His father soon realized his talent and let him play challenge matches, where Willie had to stand on a box in order to reach the table, and has beaten many experienced players.

He set the world record by running 526 consecutive balls without a miss during a straight pool exhibition at Ohio. Till now the record has not been broken and many speculated it may never be bested.
