7. Alcohol Across the Globe

The legal age to drink varies from country to country. Most of the European countries have sent the age limit at 16, Asian countries mostly 20, Canada it is 18 and 21 in the United States.  In India, the legal age to drink is 18–25 (varies between states); however, consumption of alcohol is prohibited in many states such as Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Gujarat.  Czech Republic, Ireland, and Germany are the top three beer-consuming countries while Italy, France, and Switzerland are the top three wine consuming nations. China, the United States, and Russia comes in the top list when it comes to beer production but Germany has the largest number of breweries in the world with about 1,200 while U.S. has only about 350. The top producers of wine in the world are Italy, France, and Spain. Interestingly, Norway, Finland, and Canada are the top three countries with the highest tax rates on beer.
